Hydraulic instead of pneumatic system

The traditional pneumatically operated valve is supplied with air by one or more air compressors including accessories. The hydraulically operated valve is supplied with water or glycol (where frost may be present) by means of a Power Pack that is available with the valve. Because the valve is hydraulically operated, a valve with unprecedented possibilities is created.

The system

The Power Pack ensures that the valves are supplied with water or glycol (where frost may be present), so that the valves can be put into operation. An accumulator is pre-charged with an expansion vessel with compressed air (27 bar) and on the other side the pump pressurizes the water to 50 bar. The vessel stores energy that is released when an actuator needs to be operated.

THE ACTUATOR

Applications

Thanks to precision technology, the valve moves in a controlled and controlled manner, in speed and in position. This process is controlled in such a way that every valve can be used as a control valve. Even a mixproof double seat can do that, making intermediate storage in tanks a thing of the past.

Safety

Where a traditional pneumatically operated valve is always brought to a safe position by the spring when the air is lost, this is solved with a battery in the hydraulically operated valve. Each valve is equipped with a battery as backup for the stepper motor. When the water pressure drops, the battery sends the valve to the safe position. The status of the battery is continuously monitored, so that the battery is replaced in time at all times.

The system works with a pressure of 50 and is immediately depressurized in the event of a leak or if the valve is disconnected.
